It was...Yes, my sister and I ran wild all the time. It was only years later that we learned my mother could see us from the kitchen window! At least while we were in the woods. I know for a fact that she couldn't see us at the caves, because she once organized a search party when I got trapped there by the incoming tides. Kids have lost that sense of freedom and the responsibility that comes with it. A big shame.Nikkihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08682040969965800663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3906918668784407049.post-72366547241875871202012-06-21T11:36:27.664-04:002012-06-21T11:36:27.664-04:00Way to go comments are working now. Visiting the woods or the seaside no worries. Could not let kids have that kind of freedom any more.Denise SAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17126321746568798745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3906918668784407049.post-73201831382360216792012-06-21T07:12:12.421-04:002012-06-21T07:12:12.421-04:00The Hudson--now there's a river! I lived there until I was 13, and never felt truly at home again for many years. Given the changes in my old neighborhood, there's no chance of returning there. <br />Thanks for stopping in!Nikkihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08682040969965800663noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3906918668784407049.post-84075522901339245972012-06-21T07:01:16.141-04:002012-06-21T07:01:16.141-04:00The Raritan? After a few sentences, the turn passes to the next person, who adds a few more sentences. No real rules, except you can't cancel out what the previous storytellers have done. Keeps kids occupied on long car trips!Elizabeth Delisihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08546970429755060529noreply@blogger.com
